ompany Milkow was invited to the Opening Ceremony of the International Center of Unilever Ice Cream Research and Development

On September 3rd, 2013 the opening ceremony of the International Centre of Unilever Ice Cream Research and Development took place in Tula.

Company Milkow was invited to the ceremony as a key supplier of dairy ingredients and a Partner in Unilever program of Sustainable development of agriculture*. Eduard Turlun, Director General of Milkow, represented the company at the ceremony.

The basic goal of the Center is development of new formulas of ice cream trending on the demands of Russian consumers. Also, the Center will improve manufacturing technologies and selecting quality raw materials and packaging.

Up to now, all dairy ingredients for Unilever were tested in laboratories of a similar Center in London. Presently, the company has created one of the biggest innovative centers in Eastern Europe that will study quality and properties of milk and dairy ingredients, in particular for manufacture of ice cream in Russia.

Nicolai Fedorov, Minister of Agriculture of Russia and Vladimir Gruzdev, governor of Tula region, took part in the opening ceremony. They gave the positive opinions regarding establishment of the innovative center that will take care of quality of products supplied to the Russian market.

Ozgur Kolukfaki, Head of ice cream and food business of Unilever in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, said that his company was planning to broaden the range of ice cream.

Levon Gasparyan, Milkow Sales Director, mentioned: «Company Milkow has always paid great attention to co-operation with leading Russian research institutions, such as the Cooling Industry Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Science (GNU VNIHI), the Dairy Research Instituteof the Russian Academy of Agricultural Science (GNU VNIMI),the Food Canning and Vegetable Dehydration IndustryResearch Instituteof the Russian Academy of Agricultural Science (GNU VNIIKOP) and others for collaborative study and manufacture application of new dairy ingredients. For Milkow, Unilever Center means advanced study and approval of ingredients for manufacture of ice cream and other dairy products».
